For our better future – Protection and Promotion of Children and Women's Rights in BiH
The project »For our better future – Protection and Promotion of Children and Women's Rights in BiH« was designed by three partners, Institute Circle, Medica Zenica – Therapy Center for Women and Children and Center for Education and Research – Nahla with the funding of the European Union. The project will be implemented in 10 cantons in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period from March 2021 to November 2023. The main aim of the project is to raise awareness and educate women and children about their rights and empower them to actively participate in the promotion of the principles of non-violence and protection of rights in their communities.
The project is consisted of three interrelated and complementary components that are aimed at strengthening the capacity of women, children and representatives of multi-sectoral mechanisms of protection, and a total of 1,200 people from all ten cantons will be included in the project activities.
Based on many years of experience, expertise and practice, partners of this project will educate and strengthen capacities of 20 women and 30 children in order for them to become peer educators in the field of combating domestic violence and all other forms of violence against women and children within the first component of the project.
The second component is focused on the transfer of knowledge and skills of peer educators. They will give awareness-raising sessions for their peers in primary schools and NGOs – over 400 children and 200 women. Moreover, partners of the project will develop an Online module of education on women's and children's rights and mechanisms for combating violence, which will be used in schools and NGOs during and after the project – over 400 children and 100 women.
The third component of the project is aimed at strengthening the capacity of 50 representatives of multisectoral mechanisms of protection (police, social work centers, judicial institutions, health institutions, NGOs, media, etc.) with the aim of launching initiatives for positive change in the field of mechanisms for the protection of the rights of women and children from all forms of violence.
