CEI Nahla is awarded Golden Plaque “Safet Hadžić” for Contributions to Education

Celebrating the independence of our country means taking responsibility—for the society we live in, the knowledge we build, and the values we uphold, nurture, and pass on to future generations.

At the official ceremony organized by the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo on the occasion of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Independence Day, held on Friday, February 28, 2025, the connection between the country’s past, present, and future was emphasized. As a recognition of its dedicated work in strengthening society through education, CEI Nahla was proudly awarded the Golden Plaque “Safet Hadžić.” This honor further strengthens our commitment to continuing our mission of building a community rooted in knowledge, equality, and social responsibility.

It is a true honor to stand here today, on this stage, on behalf of our entire team and a whole community that has worked diligently, consistently, and with dedication over many years—bringing us to this moment, where we receive recognition from our local community and our municipality. What makes this award especially meaningful is that it comes from our local community, which has recognized that educating and empowering women—through work, learning, support, and connection—leads to real, tangible results. By witnessing this up close, they affirm that together we are building the kind of social capital and community we all strive for—a better and more supportive environment for everyone,” said Sehija Dedović, President of CEI Nahla.
It is our vision that an empowered woman can change the world for the better. Guided by that belief, we carry out our work with deep respect for diversity, with openness, and with the conviction that every difference—at every level—is a new opportunity. It enriches us and gives us a chance to grow together, in an inclusive way, to build this society with love, empathy, and respect. We will continue our mission of making knowledge accessible—because everyone has the right to learn, to grow, and to belong,” added Sehija Dedović.

During the ceremony, distinguished speakers emphasized the undeniable importance of both individual and collective contributions to the progress of our country. Independence is not just a political concept—it is a daily struggle for a society where education, critical thinking, and equality have a fundamental place. Our work at Nahla reflects this responsibility, as we believe true sovereignty means having empowered, educated, and engaged citizens.Through our long-standing non-formal education programs, we offer opportunities for professional development, entrepreneurship skills, digital literacy, mentoring, and personal growth. Our mission goes beyond simply sharing knowledge—it’s about building confidence, critical thinking, and social responsibility.

We see this recognition as a reminder of our duty to continue strengthening society through education, solidarity, and a vision for a more successful Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our mission remains clear—to create a space where everyone has the chance to learn, grow, and contribute, because only through knowledge and unity can we ensure progress.

We view education as the highest form of patriotism, firmly believing that the greatest investment in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s future lies in the knowledge and education of all its citizens.

To all citizens, we wish a Happy March 1st, Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina!
